Neodymium magnet, referred to as NdFeB magnet, is a general term for strong magnets. Its chemical formula is Nd2Fe14B. It is an artificial permanent magnet with the strongest magnetic force so far. So, how to distinguish between bonded NdFeB magnets and sintered NdFeB magnets? In fact, these two magnets belong to neodymium, iron and boron, which are divided according to their production process, the bonded Nd-Fe-B is actually injection molded, while the sintered Nd-Fe -B magnets are formed by drawing out the space and then heating at high temperature.
1. Bonded NdFeB magnets are injection-molded and contain binder, and their density is generally only 80% of the theoretical density. Bonded NdFeB magnets are formed by high temperature heating in a complex process, and their magnetic properties are better than sintered Nd -Fe-B is about 30% lower.
2. Sintered Nd-Fe-B strong magnetic field is an anisotropic magnet produced by powder sintering. In general, only sintering can produce a blank, and then process (such as wire cutting, slicing, grinding, etc.) into magnets of various shapes. Sintered NdFeB magnet is a brittle and hard material that is not easy to process. During the processing In the middle, the loss is large, the cost is high, the dimensional accuracy is poor, the corrosion resistance is poor, and the surface needs electroplating. But its advantage is high performance, which has reached more than 500,000.
3. Combined, the bonded NdFeB magnet is about 5% of the sintered magnet. At present, the magnetic energy product of the sintered Nd-Fe-B magnet can reach more than 50m, while the magnetic energy product of the bonded magnet is generally below 10m, only 12m . The performance of the magnet bonded with magnetic powder is generally 15m, and the maximum amount is 10.5m. Therefore, sintered Nd-Fe-B is more widely used than bonded Nd-Fe-B.
